Partnership for 21st Century Skills

After reading about The Partnership for 21st Century Skills, I was pleasantly surprised to hear about the nation wide support for technology being implemented in the educational system. Their goal is to bring "together the business community, education leaders, and policymakers, we have defined a powerful vision for 21st century education to ensure every child’s success as citizens and workers in the 21st century." I see this as a great thing as so many different groups, people, and companies are involved in the process. It seems to have the right ingredients for success as its mission is supported by so many. The website has a wealth of information that contains articles about them, their movement and support, video links of seminars, and professional development opportunities.
With technology leading the way in our personal lives and in the classroom, I think that by businesses, schools, policy makers all taking a hand in this, that the students of America can be prepared for the world they will face outside of school. I would really like to see more states get involved in such organizations. There is no way to deny the impact technology is having and will continue to have on us. Since it is our jobs as educators to provide our student's with the ability to succeed in the real world, it would only make sense that we put more emphasis on what we will be faced with tomorrow.

  1. I agree that The Parentnership does "have the right ingredients" to make an impact on education. It is not just a bunch of teachers sitting around talking about what students need but business people who see what they need in workers. It is a great approach to solving a problem.
